Carmela Tommasi, age 89, of, Clemmons, NC died Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Carmela was born November 27, 1927 in Solarino, Province of Siracusa, Sicily, Italy and came to the United States in 1953 and settled in Paterson, NJ where she lived most of her life before moving to Clemmons 10 years ago.
She was a Homemaker.
She is survived by her two daughters: Nellie Aricidanco of Toms River, NJ and Maria Schumody of Hawthorne, NJ, and her three sons: Paul Tommasi and his wife Ellen of Clemmons, NC, Corrado Tommasi and his wife Josephine of Totowa, NJ, Sebastiano Tommasi and his wife Diane of Woodland Park, NJ. She is also survived by her brothers; Salvatore Valenti of North Haledon, NJ, Joseph Valenti of Franklin Lakes, NJ, and Paul Valenti of Mount Dora, FL, eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Giuseppe and her sister, Angelina.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Tuesday, October 31 at St. James Of The Marches R.C. Church, 32 St. James Place, Totowa, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
Visiting hours will be Monday, October 30 from 4-8 PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ.
