Nelly DiMaria, age 92, of Little Falls died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Villa Marie Claire Hospice in Saddle River, NJ. Nelly was born March 22, 1925 in Palmares, Costa Rica. She came to the United States in 1961 and settled in Paterson, NJ and moved to Little Falls in 1991.
She worked as a seamstress at Crazy Horse and Samuel Brutin in Paterson, NJ and retired in 1991. She was a former parishioner of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Paterson and a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.
She is survived by two daughters: Pamela DeLuccia and her husband Michael of Little Falls, NJ and Marlene Chiarmonte of Oakland, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Michael and Erica DeLuccia and Nicky Chiarmonte, her brother; Mariano Solis and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel DiMaria and her seven siblings.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Wednesday, December 27 at St. James Of The Marches R.C. Church, 32 St. James Place, Totowa, NJ with Rev. Patrick Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, December 26 from 4-8 PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ.
