Andrew Frank Meidl age 73, died peacefully at home on July 27, 2021. Andrew was born on July 11, 1948 in Zwickau Germany. He was very proud of his service in the US Air Force and fought in the Vietnam War. During his service he achieved a degree in mechanical engineering. When Andrew left with a rank of Sergeant (now Sr Airman) he pursued a new mission and started his own engineering consulting business for the food and beverage industry,
He loved spending time with his family and friends along with flying airplanes, tinkering with the latest gadgets, and feeding his dog Theodore whatever he wanted. His reputation for helping people preceded him, whether it be snow plowing you out, giving you a ride, or imparting sage advice; he considered every stranger a friend he just hasn't met yet. His personality and generosity will be his lasting legacy.
Andrew is survived by his daughters Patricia, Jennifer, and Janett. His sons Carlos and Michael, his siblings Gisela and Ed, his niece and nephew Denise and Andre, his grandkids Christian, Johnathan, Jewels, Caitlin, Carlee and numerous great grandkids. He is predeceased by his mother and father Mary and Eduard, his daughter Cynthia, his grandson Matthew, and his wife Juanita.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate his life on Saturday Aug 21 from 1-3 PM with military honors at 3 PM at De Luccia-Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Ave, Haledon.
