Obituary of Jose L. Moran

Jose L. Moran, age 86, of Hawthorne died Thursday, August 13, 2015 at home. Jose was born March 10, 1929 in Asturias, Spain. He is the son of the late Jose and the late Juana (Naves) Moran. He came to the United States in 1956 and settled in New York City. He lived in Paterson, NJ before moving to Hawthorne in 1983. He was in the Merchant Marines from 1948 until 1957 and traveled to all different parts of the world. He was a machine operator for Witco Purex in Paterson and for Merck Chemicals in Hawthorne an retired from Merck Chemicals in 1990. He is survived by his wife: Mercedes(Flores) Moran , his daughter: Miriam Moran of Hawthorne, NJ and his four sons: Carlos Luis Moran of Paterson, NJ, Ricardo Moran of Hawthorne, NJ, Jose Moran of Cape Cod, MA, Jorge Moran of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by his sister; Mary Moran and seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brothers; Sabino, Fernando and Juan Moran. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 17 at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ at 10 AM. Burial will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 PM
