Obituary of Edward J. Poterala

Edward J. Poterala, age 82, of North Haledon died Friday, October 5, 2012 at Hospice Of New Jersey in Wayne, NJ. Edward was born March 16, 1930 in Paterson, NJ. He is the son of the late Stephen and the late Helen (Romatowski) Poterala. He moved to North Haledon in 1957.

 

He was a roofer and was employed by All - Ply Roofing, Haledon, NJ until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Roofers Local No. 10. in Haledon, NJ .

 

He also served in the National Guard and was a model train enthusiast.

 

He is survived by his wife: Carole (Powell) Poterala , his two daughters: Joanne Berry and her husband Jim of North Haledon, NJ and Kathy Cazenave and her husband Rick of Flower Mound, TX and his son: Edward S. Poterala and his wife Loretta of Wayne, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Clayton Berry and his wife Mari, Craig Berry, Glenn Berry, Melissa Poterala, Michelle Poterala, Rickey Cazenave and Matthew Cazenave and his great grandsons, Aaron Berry and Benjamin Edward Berry.

 

He was predeceased by his sister, Jennie Saunders, his brother, Joseph Poterala and a granddaughter, Angela Poterala.

 

The funeral will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 9 at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. Cremation is private.

 

Visiting hours will be Monday, October 8 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pediatric Neurology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Attention: Michele T. Clark, Development Office, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH 03756 would be appreciated.
