Anna Alexis, age 71, of Wyckoff died Friday, November 6, 2009 at her residence.Mrs. Alexis was born May 5, 1938 in Belarus, Russia the daughter of the late Michael and the late Donna Shemelow. She came to the United States in 1949 and settled in New York before moving to North Haledon, NJ. She has lived in Wyckoff since 1969.She was a member of St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral in Paterson, NJ. She was a homemaker.She is survived by her husband: Boris Alexis , three daughters: Irene Maltzan of Emerson, NJ, Tatiana Alexis of Ridgefield Park, NJ, Lillian Miller of Panama, her grandchildren; Bobby Monroe, Danny Monroe, Katy Maltzan and Ian Maltzan. She was predeceased by her brother, Andrew Shemelow.Visiting hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 6-8PM at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. Panahida will be Monday evening at 7:30PM at the funeral home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:00 at St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral, 52 Sherman Avenue, Paterson, NJ.Burial will be in Novo DiVeevo Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
