Obituary of Anthony D. Occhiuzzi

Anthony D. Occhiuzzi, age 92, of North Haledon passed away peacefully at home on Monday December 10, 2018.

Born in Providence of Cesenzo Calabria Italy, he came to the US in 1935 at the age of 9 with his late mother Elvira and his late brother Frank. He lived and grew up in Paterson before moving to North Haledon fifty-seven years ago. He was self employed with his clerical vestment company and was later co owner with his  brother Frank at Alps Coat Factory in Paterson for twenty years retiring in 1989. His cherished memory was playing for the University of Florida Gator football team with his life long pals from Paterson Central High School, Thomas Vagelas and Zigmond Sklodowski.

Beloved husband of the late JoAnn (Mastronardi) Occhiuzzi.  Loving father of Anna McNamara and her husband Lenny of North Haledon, Carmen and his wife Susan of North Haledon and Anthony of Toms River. Dear brother of the late  Frank Occhiuzzi. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Marianna, Sarah and the late Allison.  Loving great grandfather of Jake and Matthew.                                            

Funeral  from the Deluccia- Lozito Funeral Home ,265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon on Friday 9 AM.  Funeral Liturgy at St. Gerard's R.C. Church, Paterson at 10 AM.  Visiting on Thursday from  3 to 7 PM.
