Emily Baker- A Wonderful Woman
I first met Sito in 1974, as I was dating her grand daughter Sugar. Emily welcomed me into her home with her usual big hug and kiss. I came to understand later that she greeted everyone, new acquaintance or old, family or friend, with similar love and affection. I can remember Sherry visiting our home and commenting on how Habibi surprised the neighborhood kids by greeting them with her big hug and kisses.
Emily had a love for all people, that stemmed from following her faith. She always found the good in others, and prayed for their good fortune. She truly loved mankind with an openness that was contagious. I thank her for that love which she shared with me and my children; and we will miss her.
I will think of her often. When I hug a family member or an old friend. I know that happens because Emily taught Mary Ann, her daughter, and she taught my wife Sugar, and she taught me and my children.
Emily was truly a wonderful woman!
