Obituary of Lucille H. Ruocco

Lucille H. Ruocco (nee Garbarino) 94 of Haledon, NJ passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, June 5, 2010. She was born in Wanaque, NJ on December 13, 1915 and moved to Haledon in 1920 and lived there most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Luigi Garbarino and the late Rose Garbarino ( Bevalagua). In her early life she was a seamstress and later was a homemaker. She was a member of the Haledon School Board from April, 1979 to December 1984.. She served the Borough of Haledon as a councilwoman for three terms from 1985-1997. She was Haledon's Recycle Coordinator from 1988 to 1993 and from 1996 to 2003. The Haledon Recycle Center is now known as the Lucille Ruocco Recycle Center. She was active in Haledon Seniors and she was certified Senior Aerobics Instructor. She started her own line dancing group called the Golden Steppers and performed at several local nursing homes. Beloved wife of the late Oscar Ruocco (1981). Devoted mother of Lucinda Dingman and her husband Oran of Omaha, NE, Gary Ruocco and his wife Debra of Haledon and Jerry Ruocco and his wife Lucy of Oakland, NJ. Loving grandmother of Warren Digman, Heather Dees and her husband Randy, Jennifer Maginn and her husband Daniel, Eric Ruocco and his fiance' Martina De Rosa and Sara-Lynn, Kara Ann, and Gabriella Ruocco. Dear sister of Louis Garbarino. Funeral from DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ on Wednesday at 8:30 am. Funeral Liturgy at St. Paul's R.C. Church, Prospect Park, NJ at 9:30 am. Intrerment, Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa, NJ. Visiting on Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9 pm,.
