Elena Koppel, age 88 of Montclair died Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Mountainside Hospital of Glen Ridge, . Elena was born March 16, 1922 in Staraya Russa, Russia. She is the daughter of the late Yuri and the late Ekaterina (Medvedski) Gruenman. She came to the United States in 1951 and settled in Montclair.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral, Paterson, NJ.
She is survived by her husband: Volrad Koppel ; her sister: Paula Sneider of Cedar Grove, NJ and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Vsevolod Gruenman.
The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Monday, August 23 at St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral, , Paterson, NJ. Panahida will be 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at St. Michael's R.O. Cathedral, , Paterson, NJ. Burial will be in Novo DiVeevo Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
