Ed was a sheet metal worker. He started his vocation building diners for Paramount Diners in Haledon. He worked 44 plus years for Dericks Sheet Metal Works in Totowa, NJ. Ed was a dedicated and hard working employee. He was very proud that in all the years he worked at Dericks, he used less that 5 sick days. Ed was a World War II veteran where he served as a member of General Patton's Army. Ed was a gunner in Company B of the 610th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He fought at the Battle of the Bulge and other areas in France and Central Europe. He was a recipient of the American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Ed's favorite pastimes were gardening, food shopping and going to Atlantic City and OTB. He loved growing vegetables and providing friends with his produce. Ed always did the food shopping for his household and traveled from store to store for the best prices. He was a familiar face at Shop-Rite of Wayne. Beloved husband of 64 years of Margaret Sella (nee Campanella). Devoted father of Susan Torasso and her husband Edward of Wayne and Lois Papendick and her husband Herbert of Totowa. Loving grandfather of the "apple of his eye" Laura Lynn Papendick.
