Obituary of Filomena Porporino

Filomena Porporino, age 89, of Prospect Park died Monday, August 6, 2012. Filomena was born March 13, 1923 in Calabria, Italy. She is the daughter of the late Angelo and the late Maria (Varga) Leone. She came to the United States in 1969 and settled in Prospect Park. She was a homemaker. She was a parishioner of St. Paul's RC Church, Prospect Park, NJ. She is survived by her two daughters: Josephine Tedesco and Silvana Esposito and her three sons: Salvatore Porporino, Gino Porporino and Bruno Porporino. She also has eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Luigi Porporino and her grandchildren Dawn Marie Esposito and Nicholas Porporino and a great granddaughter Alexandra Castillo (Porporino) . A Mass of Christian burial will be held 9:30 am on Saturday, August 11 at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ. Entombment will be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be Friday, August 10 from 6-9 PM.
