Obituary of Raymond Mininni, Sr.

Raymond Mininni, Sr., age 86 passed away on Sunday January 15, 2023. Born in Paterson, NJ, he lived there before moving to Wayne in 1975. Raymond was a barber and owner of Meadtown Barber Shop in Kinnelon, NJ for 47 years, retiring in 2007. Raymond loved playing basketball and played for the Railroad Construction Company in 1959, where he once scored 61 points in one game and was named most valuable player of the tournament. He was a member of the St. Anthony's Social Club in Paterson, and The Do-Good House Student Support Group in Totowa, NJ. He was an avid NY Giant and NY Yankees fan, loved going to Atlantic City , Las Vegas and enjoyed watching championship boxing. Raymond was well loved by his family and friends and he always had a great sense of humor. 

Loving husband of Joan (nee Crawford). Devoted father of Raymond Mininni, Jr. and his wife Loretta, Debrah Fonseca and her husband the late Enrique, Sonja Castiglia and her husband Peter, William Mininni, David Mininni and his wife Paula, Dante Mininni, Mary Farley-Moffatt and her husband Craig Moffatt, and Damon Mininni. Cherished grandfather of Amanda Fonseca-Snyder, Ashley Fonseca-Alberque, Alisha Grutzmacher, David Mininni, Dana Shann, Angelo Mininni, Sadie Rae Mininni, Brianna Castiglia, Samone and Sophia Mininni, and Hudson Farley. Dear great-grandfather of Payton Snyder, Mikaela Alberque, Quinn Grutzmacher, Joseph Shann, Gianna Mininni, Kingsley Grutzmacher and Madisyn Lavornia. He was predeceased by his brothers,  Frank Mininni and Dr. Angelo Mininni.

Funeral from the Deluccia Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ, on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy at St. Gerard Majella R.C. Church, 501 West Broadway, Paterson, NJ at 10 AM. Interment, George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ. Visiting on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
