Obituary of Rose A. Mainardi
Please share a memory of Rose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rose Mainardi (nee Stough), 81, of Franklin Lakes passed out of this life on May 25th at Valley Hospital in the arms of her loving husband of 57 years. Rose was born in Gettysburg, Pa, was educated in local Catholic schools, and with excellent marks earned a scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania where she was on the Dean's List. It was there that she met her husband-to-be, Andrew, in January of 1952. After both graduated, they were married in 1955 while Andrew was attending law school, following which, they took up residence in Paterson, where Andrew began practicing law. They moved to Franklin Lakes in 1962, where they have lived since. Rose volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital and the Franklin Lakes Library and became a Eucharistic minister at Most Blessed Sacrament Church. In her spare time, she raised four children who survive her, love her, and miss her: Andrew, married to Priscilla Barnett, Stephen, married to Paula Sokoly, Margaret (Peg) married to Howard Floyd, and Christopher and Judy Davidson, of Kinnelon. Rose is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, none of whom will ever forget her gentle and loving spirit. Funeral Liturgy at Most Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church on Wednesday at 10 AM. Interment at Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Visiting on Tuesday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson & Passaic, 264 21st Avenue, Paterson, NJ 07501 or The Valley Hospital Foundation, 223 North Van Dien Avenue, Ridgewood, NJ 07450.
