Obituary of Peter Flaker

Peter Flaker, Jr., age 78, of Haledon died Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Peter was born October 25, 1935 in Hackensack, NJ. He is the son of the late Peter and the late Elizabeth Flaker. He lived in Haledon most of his life. He was a carpenter for Bayer Chemical in Haledon for 30 years and retired in 1993. He also was the Code Enforcement Officer for the Borough of Haledon for many years. He was the Fire Chief for the Borough of Haledon and a Life Exempt Member of Haledon Volunteer Fire Department, Company No. 1. He also served in the United States Army National Guard. He is survived by his wife: Shirley (Dougherty) Flaker , his daughter: Kathy Perrotta and her husband Anthony of Toms River, NJ and his sons: Robert Flaker and his wife Marijean of North Haledon, NJ, Timothy Flaker of Haledon, NJ and Jeffrey Flaker of Hawthorne, NJ. He is also survived by his sister: Jeanette Bsales of Bloomingdale, NJ and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was predeceased by his son, Scott Flaker. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, April 19 at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. Burial will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa. Visiting hours will be Friday, April 18 from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haledon Volunteer Fire Department, Company No. 1, 21 Pompton Road, Haledon, NJ 07508.
