Obituary of Gaetano E. Dittamo

Dittamo, Gaetano E., 86 of Haledon, NJ on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. He was born in Paterson, NJ and lived in Haledon most of his life.
He graduated from Eastside High School and received his Bachelors Degree from Paterson State Teachers College. He received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from New York University.
He was a teacher at Central High School in Paterson, the Chairman of the Business Education Department at Midland Park High School, Chairman of the Business Education Department at Manchester Regional High School, the Vice Principal of Kinnelon High School and the Business Administrator for the River Vale Board of Education.
He was on the board of trustees at Passaic County Community College, he served as a councilman in Haledon, NJ, was the treasurer and president of Haledon A.A.R.P., the welfare director in Haledon and the President of the NJ Business Education Association. He was a parishioner at St. Paul's R.C. Church in Prospect Park, NJ where he was served as the accountant for the parish as well as a member of the finance committee. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 6907 and served as it's financial secretary. He also was on the Boy Scout Committee for Troop no.2 and a member of St. Paul's Leisure Club and the treasurer and a member of the board of trustees for the St. Paul Players.
Beloved husband of the late Theresa Dittamo (nee Perrotta). Devoted father of Michael and Anne Dittamo. Loving grandfather of Andrew and Alissa Dittamo. Dear brother of the late Olga Bana and half brother of Hector Dittamo.
Funeral from DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ on Saturday at 8:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy at St. Paul's R.C. Church at 9:30 AM. Interment, Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Visiting on Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
